Example message for social media:
[Tag Representative], the American people need you to take a stand and oppose the $1.776 billion slush fund President Trump is trying to use to award to his supporters. Any funds paid out will have no oversight with no requirement to disclose who receives them. This is not just corrupt but un-American. Take a stand and do what’s best for [insert the state the Congressperson represents].
Example message for Email:
[Representative Name], as your constituent and speaking for all Americans we need your help. The planned $1.776 billion “anti-weaponization fund” struck as a private settlement by President Trump and Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche over President Trump’s $10 billion lawsuit against the IRS is one of the most corrupt acts in American history. The fact that taxpayer dollars can be awarded to individuals by a group of commissioners that President Trump can fire for any reason is highly concerning, To add insult to injury, the Trump Administration will not rule out awarding funds to the individuals that attacked Capitol Police on January 6th. [Representative Name], this slush fund is un-American and not in the best interests [insert state name here]. I am asking that you publicly oppose this slush fund and demand that it either be prohibited entirely by co-sponsoring H.R.8955 with Representatives Fitzpatrick and Suozzi, work to ensure it is subject to full judicial oversight as an approved settlement, or have explicit guardrails placed by Congress requiring those that receive the funds be publicly posted and require an independently appointed panel that President Trump is unable to pressure, coerce, or remove.
